2008 Summer Organ Series
Cool down on a hot summer night with the rich sounds of the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ in Verizon Hall. To truly understand the grandness of this superbly sublime instrument, you must experience it first-hand with some of the most exceptional organ masters in the world. We’re pulling out all the stops for three unforgettable performances on July 10, 17 and 24.

A native of Illinois, Scott Montgomery commenced his musical studies at age eight and began entering organ competitions at fifteen. In 2006 at the National Convention of the American Guild of Organists, he was the first-prize winner of the National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance. Mr. Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois and is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree as a student of Dr. Dana Robinson. Scott Montgomery is Director of Music and Organist for Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign, Illinois, and his performances have been broadcast on American Public Media's Pipedreams.
