Pedro A. Ramos
Pedro A. Ramos, 43, is a Partner in the Business Department of Blank Rome LLP and a Principal in the Firm’s wholly owned subsidiary, Blank Rome Government Relations LLC. Mr. Ramos’s primary practice areas include employment, benefits and labor; state and local law; as well as government relations. Mr. Ramos advises corporate, nonprofit, and governmental clients on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, strategy and planning, regulatory compliance, business transactions, legal disputes, and public policy. Mr. Ramos’s law practice before joining Blank Rome included service as the City Solicitor of the City of Philadelphia, and practice as a partner and an associate at another large national firm. In addition, Mr. Ramos has had senior management responsibilities as the Managing Director of the City of Philadelphia and as the Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Ramos has been active in the region’s civic affairs all of his career. He served on the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia for six years, including two years as President and three years as Vice President, and co-chaired the education committee of Pennsylvania Governor Rendell’s transition team in 2002. He serves on the boards of directors of Project H.O.M.E., The Kimmel Center, The Pan American Association of Philadelphia, and the Associated Alumni of Central High School. In addition, he serves as co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Legislative Liaison Committee, the Pennsylvania policy and advocacy committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association; and chairs the Pennsylvania NMSI AP Advisory Board, a statewide effort to increase the number of students taking AP-level courses in Science and Mathematics. He is an Eisenhower Exchange Fellow (France 2000) and is currently participating in the Pennsylvania Economy League’s Leadership Exchange. Mr. Ramos was identified by a Philadelphia Leadership Inc. poll as one of the Philadelphia Region’s top 101 “connectors,” defined as those who connect for the common good. Mr. Ramos is a 1992 cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, a 1987 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and a 1983 graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia.
