William B. Petersen is Vice President and Associate General Counsel for state regulatory matters in the eastern United States.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Petersen served as president of Verizon Pennsylvania. He has also previously served as Verizon’s general counsel for the Mid-Atlantic North Region. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.

Before joining Verizon, Mr. Petersen was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and also worked in private practice.

Mr. Petersen serves on the boards of the Independence Visitor Center Corporation, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and WHYY.
